Oakbank Races
Adelaide, Easter 2006

This is the spot for the Adelaide Hills' biggest event, the Easter Oakbank Racing Carnival, part of the Australia-wide "picnic races"
that take place in small towns throughout the nation. The Oakbank horse races attract crowds in excess of 70,000 a day over the
Easter long weekend.  The Oakbank Great Eastern Steeplechase Carnival (nearly 5km's) is without doubt the most exciting fixture on the racing scene
at Easter. Oakbank rivals the Melbourne Cup in size and colour and it's huge crowd annually on Easter Monday makes it the biggest Picnic
Race Meeting on Earth. Easter Saturday attracts a crowd of approximately 35,000 and sets the scene for a fantastic Monday meeting.
