Wed 5th July - Tues 11th July 2000
Here's the photo's from an awesome Pamps
trip.... CRAS Captain Johnno and
CRAS Tour Manager Aids did the bull run at 8am on Sat 8th July 2000.
403rd Running of the Bulls
Bull Run Date - Sat 8th July, 2000
Temperature - 15 degrees & Overcast
Course length - 800 metres
Duration of Run - 5.20 mins *
Run Casualties - 25 Treated for injuries, 4 Hospitalised
* The average duration of the run is
2-3 minutes, ours was 5.20 mins as a result of one
of the bulls turning around and running back through the streets in the opposite
direction.

This is the view of the course just minutes before the bulls were let loose

Aids before the running very confused and hungover!

8am - The bulls are let loose
(photos from the next days paper)

The Bulls on the first street running at 100 metres per 6 seconds

First casualty...

The Bulls approach the turn where a few
of them lose their footing.

Going, going, gone... the bull is
down....but not for long...

The same corner where the bulls have
fallen - this is where Aids and I started the run.
When the first 6 or so bulls reached us we were half way down this street - it's
narrow enough hey?

When the last bull makes it to the ring
they close the bull ring door and no one else is allowed in.
We made it into the ring then about another 4 bulls entered the ring..... luckily for us
they didn't pass us through
the entrance to the bull ring as this is the narrowest and most dangerous section of the
bull run...

They then let the younger bulls loose in
the ring. Although their horns are covered
they can still cause carnage. Aids and Johnno were in the ring as this took place.
The
guys in the photo are sitting directly opposite the pen when the bull is set loose
and then goes balistic..

Got him.....

Then they let the big Mama out to round
up the younger bull. Her horns
aren't covered but she is generally pretty placid...

On the way back to the pen.... then they
let another young bull out.
This happens four or five times.

Johnno in the bull ring armed with video camera & CRAS shirt!

The view inside the ring...

One of the casualties from our bull run....

Aids, Johnno, Alex Furry Mac & Dave in the Old Town Centre

Alex & Johnno attended a Bull Fight
that night at 6.30pm. They had to buy scalpers tickets at £40 each.

We saw this Matador get a very lucky
escape. The bull got him but the Matador missed his
horns and he lived - the bull was not so lucky and didn't...

The course and stats from our run in a local paper.....

The last two days of the trip were spent in San Sebastian,
Spain
